Georgia Tax Sale Redemption Calculator
Estimate what it would cost to redeem your property from the tax deed buyer, and see when the 12 months from the sale run out.
The sale
Estimate only. The redemption price is set by O.C.G.A. § 48-4-42: the amount paid at the sale, plus taxes and special assessments the purchaser paid, plus a 20 percent premium for the first year or fraction of a year after the sale and 10 percent for each year or fraction after that, plus the sheriff’s and publication costs when redemption comes more than 30 days after a notice, plus association dues the purchaser paid for sales after July 1, 2016. This tool applies the premium to the sale amount plus taxes and assessments. The figure that counts is the one the purchaser is entitled to under the statute, paid in certified funds; a judicial in rem sale is redeemed by paying the minimum bid into the superior court within 60 days. This is not legal advice. For what the right is worth if you cannot redeem, see selling your right of redemption.
